It was in the fall of 1977 that I noticed I was more weak than usual. We live on a farm and I was trying to get the fall harvesting finished but I could only work about 2 hours a day and had to rest frequently. My health steadily decreased until finally I was diagnosed as having lymphoma stage 4, which had spread to the pancreas, liver, spleen, sinus and bones. Not knowing any better I had two chemotherapy treatments, after which I felt very depressed and alone.
A friend of my wifes told us about a clinic in Mexico. Figuring I had nothing to lose, we went down there for two weeks. They normally keep patients 3 or 4 weeks, but they felt there was little hope for me and they said they did not want us to spend any more money. They sent me home with Laetrile and vitamins A and C, and enzymes.
After we arrived home I stayed about the same, not much better, very weak. I rarely went outside. I could still walk, but oh, so slow.
We changed our diet and started eating only whole grains, lots of fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. When I decided not to continue with the chemotherapy, the doctor said, "Its going to kill you."
I decided to try another therapy, so I went to the Gerson institute in Mexico, where I learned as much as I could about diet and juices. I stayed on their program approximately six months, but it was almost impossible to get the young calf liver in our area that was required for the liver juice. I still didnt feel well and felt that something was missing in my diet. I had heard about wheat grass therapy, so I started growing wheat grass and juicing it. I also grew sprouts and used them in salads. It was while I was on this program that I started to regain the use of my right arm, which had the muscle eaten away by the cancer.
Slowly, but oh, so slowly, I was able to be up and around. I was detoxifying constantly with internal cleansers. Then I heard about another program, Dr. William Kelleys nutritional therapy. Dr. Kelley cured himself of pancreatic cancer, and his program corrects body chemistry on an individual basis. But it must be followed precisely. There is no in-between. You must use all the supplements, and only those supplements, and its important to take them exactly at the correct time. I used to carry them with me wherever I went. I would always take them on schedule.
I was on the program about 5 weeks when I could tell I was feeling stronger and had a better outlook on life. I remember telling my wife, "I think Im gonna live!" I stayed on the Kelley program until tests showed my body chemistry was corrected.
I still take vitamins A, C and B-complex, and selenium plus a barley green powder which I mix with water. I can tell the difference if I dont take the barley powder every morning. I still use the herbal internal cleanser to keep the body and blood clean inside.
Today, 22 years later, I am alive and well. I even cut wood using my right arm the one that was almost useless a few years ago. I have developed a hobby of making wood projects and I spend as much time as possible outdoors in the fresh air. I know I must always be on guard and must not get negligent about my diet.
I attribute my success first of all to the Good Lord for giving me another chance and allowing me to get well, and to my wonderful wife Mildred for her undivided attention and concern.
